Tennis in the United States is played on three kinds of places: public park courts run by a city or county, member clubs and country clubs with their own pros and leagues, and commercial tennis centers that sell court time by the hour. Public courts are usually free and first come, first served, with a posted limit (often 60-90 minutes when others are waiting); busier cities run online reservation systems with a small fee and a permit for the season. Indoor courts are rented by the hour and booked days ahead in winter. Most facilities are hard courts; clay is common in the Southeast and at private clubs, and grass is rare. Lights extend play into the evening at many parks, sometimes with a coin or app-operated switch.

This is a generous 3. It should probably be a 2 but the on-site people were very nice and the room was exceptionally clean. It appears to me that the hotel is run well but has a cheap owner. An example would be a spotlessly clean bathroom with gross rusted door hinges, or clean crisp sheets but ancient, beat up furniture. The hotel is okay for a night but nothing special.

We enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn Binghamton. We had the 2 bedroom unit. One bedroom was in a loft area and the other in the area with the living area and full kitchen. To get to our unit, there was a flight of steps. Our room was clean and in excellent shape. We were a little nervous reading some of the other reviews saying the hotel needed renovations. The website said the room had 2 queen beds. The bed seemed smaller than a queen size. The air conditioning unit was extremely loud in our unit, but we were only basically in the room to sleep. You need to go outside to get to the lobby area where they serve breakfast. The breakfast had the basic items. We did ask the attendant for gluten free bagels. The outside of the buildings looks a bit weathered, but we were extremely happy with our stay. There is a 7 Brew right down the hill from the hotel and 2 restaurants, Tully’s and CooperTop, in the shopping center across the street from the hotel.
